"wow you have a lot of toys"

This afternoon a recent college grad came over my house to take a look at some odd jobs I need to have done. As we were walking through the family room he said, "Wow! You have a lot of toys" I am sure what he was really thinking was, "Your house is a complete mess. There are toys everywhere and you can't even walk in a straight path without tripping over something. Your house is as messy as my college dorm room. I am not a neat freak by any stretch of the imagination. I have to work really hard to keep things organized. I always wonder how people keep their houses so clean and neat. What is the secret? What am I missing? I realize having 2 kids and a dog doesn't help, and I have decided that I am not going to apologize or feel bad about a messy house anymore

New School Year

The start of this new school year finds me at home. I am on maternity leave until October 10, but have decided to try out the blogging thing once again. This year is going to be busy...I already feel busy just taking care of my two children, cleaning the house, and having meals on the table. I can only imagine how I will feel in another month when I add a brand new job on top of it all. I like to be proactive about changes, so I am trying to plan my meals ahead of time and freeze as many meals as possible. So, for the next month expect most of my posts to be about food - recipes I like/don't like, ideas for new recipes, and my struggle to make delicious healthy food. This morning I made pomegranate and blueberry gelatin. I got the recipe from Simply Sugar Free and Gluten Free blog  I didn't have bananas or apple juice in, so I used pom juice and just blueberries. This was a huge hit with both my son and me. We each had one with lunch, and I can't wait for him to wake up s
